When is a webinar not a webinar?
When it is an infomercial.
I have sat through about two dozen of these things in the past few months. Occasionally, I have gleaned little tidbits of information that might be useful. More often, I have sat through twenty minutes of braggadocio and perky promise-laden sales pitches that had me cursing on mute the whole way through.
So why did I sit through them? Because sometimes the best way to learn what you should not do is to watch how others are doing it. I want Beatitudo to provide small business owners and leaders information they can actually use without the hype and the hard sell.
Look, you are busy. I am busy. None of us like our time wasted. If you tell me that you will provide me a template or some six-point framework that might help my business and then have me sit through your infomercial for ninety minutes without ever delivering on your promiseβ¦why would I spend money with you after that bait and switch??
At the heart of every single job I have ever done sits a core passion for educating other people. Whether I was training new dealers or supervisors in the casino business, teaching freshmen students about political philosophy, or designing training programs for civil engineers…in every single position I gravitate towards empowering students and employees through knowledge. I love seeing that lightbulb-moment when understanding dawns, the heavens open, and the rainbow of knowledge appears.
We have a program in development that will not waste anyone’s time…yours or ours. Straightforward content with actionable takeaways that will be priced appropriately. No icebreakers, no games, no raffle tickets to win a spot at some overpriced conference, and definitely no hard sales pitches allowed. Snarky commentary and outlandish analogies are included at no extra cost!
So stay tuned. Classes start soon.
